Job Description

Cirque du Soleil is seeking highly motivated and resilient individuals to join our touring team as Circus Big Top Setup Laborers. This demanding role is critical to bringing our magical worlds to life, involving the complete erection and dismantling of our iconic Grand Chapiteau (Big Top) and all associated infrastructure. You will be an integral part of a close-knit crew, traveling extensively and working hard to transform empty lots into stages for world-class performances. This position requires exceptional physical stamina, a strong work ethic, and the ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced, and ever-changing environment. Key Responsibilities

  • Participate in the complete setup and teardown of the Grand Chapiteau (Big Top), secondary tents, and all related touring infrastructure.
  • Load and unload equipment, materials, and supplies from trucks and containers.
  • Assist with the precise positioning and anchoring of tent poles, cables, and canvas sections.
  • Operate various manual and power tools safely and efficiently under supervision.
  • Perform general maintenance and repair tasks on equipment and structures as needed.
  • Work collaboratively with a diverse team in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
  • Adhere strictly to all safety protocols and procedures at all times.
  • Travel extensively with the touring production to various domestic and international locations.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area.

Required Skills

  • Exceptional physical strength, stamina, and agility.
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull heavy objects (up to 75 lbs) repeatedly.
  • Willingness and ability to work at heights and in various weather conditions.
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills.
  • Problem-solving aptitude and ability to follow instructions precisely.
  • Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
  • Availability for extensive travel and irregular work hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Valid driver's license.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in construction, rigging, stagehand work, or event setup.
  • Experience operating heavy machinery (e.g., forklifts, telescopic handlers).
  • Basic carpentry or mechanical skills.
  • First Aid/CPR certification.
  • Ability to speak multiple languages is a plus for international tours.
