Job Description
Music & Arts is seeking a passionate and skilled Part-time Woodwind Instructor specializing in Flute and Clarinet to join our team in Bellevue, Washington. If you have a deep love for music, exceptional proficiency in these instruments, and a desire to inspire students of all ages and skill levels, we encourage you to apply. This role involves providing high-quality, personalized instruction in a supportive and engaging environment, helping students develop their musical talents and achieve their individual goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide expert one-on-one and small group instruction in flute and clarinet to students of varying ages and skill levels.
- Develop and implement personalized lesson plans tailored to each student's learning style and goals.
- Track student progress, provide constructive feedback, and communicate effectively with students and their parents/guardians.
- Introduce students to music theory, sight-reading, technique, and repertoire appropriate for their level.
- Maintain a professional and inspiring learning environment.
- Participate in optional student recitals and performance opportunities.
- Adhere to Music & Arts curriculum guidelines while also bringing your unique teaching approach.
Required Skills
- Expert-level proficiency in playing and teaching both flute and clarinet.
- Proven experience in music instruction, preferably with woodwind instruments.
- Strong understanding of music theory, technique, and repertoire for flute and clarinet.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, especially with children and young adults.
- Ability to adapt teaching methods to suit individual student needs and learning styles.
- Patience, enthusiasm, and a genuine passion for music education.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Music Performance, Music Education, or a related field.
- Experience teaching diverse age groups, from beginners to advanced students.
- Familiarity with various teaching methodologies and educational technologies.
- Knowledge of other woodwind instruments or general music pedagogy.
