Job Description

Safeway in Salinas is seeking enthusiastic and reliable individuals to join our team as a High School Delivery Helper. In this role, you will assist our delivery team with local order fulfillment, focusing on organizing, verifying, and transporting items within the store or immediate vicinity to ensure timely customer deliveries. This position requires no driving, making it perfect for those seeking an entry-level opportunity to gain valuable work experience and contribute to a fast-paced retail environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with the organization and staging of customer orders for delivery.
- Verify order accuracy by cross-referencing items with delivery manifests.
- Efficiently transport customer orders within the store or to designated local delivery points using carts or other non-motorized equipment.
- Provide friendly and professional assistance to customers during order hand-offs.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, including storage areas and staging zones.
- Communicate effectively with store staff and delivery drivers to ensure smooth operations.
- Adhere to all company safety guidelines and procedures.
