Job Description
We are seeking an exceptionally skilled and dedicated Critical Care Transport Nurse to join our elite team. This role demands a high level of clinical expertise, critical thinking, and the ability to perform under pressure in dynamic and challenging environments. As a Critical Care Transport Nurse, you will be responsible for providing advanced medical care during interfacility and scene transfers, utilizing state-of-the-art equipment and protocols. Key Responsibilities
- Provide advanced critical care assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation during transport of critically ill or injured patients.
- Operate and maintain specialized medical equipment, including ventilators, IV pumps, cardiac monitors, and other life support devices.
- Administer medications and perform advanced procedures as per protocol and physician orders.
- Collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary teams, including physicians, paramedics, EMTs, and other healthcare professionals.
- Document all patient care activities accurately and thoroughly in accordance with regulatory standards.
- Maintain readiness of transport vehicles and equipment, ensuring supplies are stocked and functional.
- Participate in ongoing training, simulations, and quality improvement initiatives.
- Act as a professional representative of MedStar Mobile Healthcare, adhering to ethical standards and patient advocacy.
- Manage patient and family expectations and provide emotional support during stressful situations.
Required Skills
- Current RN license in the State of Texas
- Minimum 4 years of experience in an Emergency Department (ED), Intensive Care Unit (ICU), or Critical Care Unit (CCU)
- Current BLS, ACLS, PALS certifications
- Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving abilities
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a high-performance team
- Physical ability to lift, push, pull, and maneuver patients and equipment in various environments
- Valid Driver's License and clean driving record
Preferred Qualifications
- Current CFRN, CCRN, or CEN certification
- Paramedic certification or experience
- Experience in pre-hospital or air medical transport
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
- Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) certification
- Advanced Medical Life Support (AMLS) certification
