Key Responsibilities
- Operate a commercial motor vehicle safely and efficiently in accordance with DOT regulations and company policies.
- Manage your own business operations, including dispatch, record-keeping, and financial management.
- Plan and execute routes efficiently to ensure timely delivery of goods.
- Maintain your equipment to ensure roadworthiness and compliance with safety standards.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch, clients, and other team members.
- Adhere to all traffic laws and regulations.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections, documenting any issues.
Required Skills
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL-A)
- Minimum 2 years of verifiable CDL-A driving experience
- Own a well-maintained tractor (or be willing to lease-purchase)
- Clean driving record
- Strong understanding of DOT regulations
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Ability to manage an independent business
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous Owner Operator experience
- HazMat and Tanker endorsements
- Established business entity (LLC, S-Corp, etc.)
- Familiarity with electronic logging devices (ELDs) and transportation management systems (TMS)
