Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Analytical Laboratory Supervisor to lead our dynamic team in West Valley City. This pivotal role involves overseeing daily laboratory operations, ensuring adherence to quality standards (GLP/GMP), and fostering a culture of scientific excellence and team collaboration. The successful candidate will be responsible for technical supervision, method development and validation, instrument maintenance, and staff training and development. Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of analytical laboratory personnel, ensuring efficient workflow and timely project completion.
  • Provide technical guidance and support for complex analytical testing, troubleshooting instrumentation, and resolving technical issues.
  • Oversee the development, validation, and transfer of new analytical methods in accordance with regulatory guidelines (e.g., USP, ICH, FDA).
  • Ensure strict adherence to Good Laboratory Practices (GLP) and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) regulations and internal quality systems.
  • Conduct performance reviews, provide constructive feedback, and facilitate professional development and training for team members.
  • Manage laboratory resources, including instrumentation, reagents, and supplies, to optimize operational efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
  • Participate in client interactions, project planning, and data interpretation, providing expert scientific input.
  • Maintain accurate and thorough documentation, including lab notebooks, analytical reports, and quality control records.
  • Lead and participate in internal and external audits, ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements.

Required Skills

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in an analytical laboratory setting, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or lead role.
  • Proficiency with various analytical techniques, including HPLC, GC, Mass Spectrometry, UV/Vis, FTIR, and dissolution testing.
  • Strong understanding and practical application of GLP and GMP principles.
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities with excellent team management and interpersonal skills.
  • Exceptional problem-solving capabilities and meticulous attention to detail.
  • Solid understanding of method development, validation, and transfer processes.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's or Ph.D. in Analytical Chemistry, Biochemistry, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or a related scientific discipline.
  • Experience working in a contract research organization (CRO) or a pharmaceutical/medical device industry lab.
  • Familiarity with LIMS (Laboratory Information Management System) and other lab automation software.
  • Certifications in quality management (e.g., Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing).
