Job Description

Are you a compassionate and reliable individual looking to make a real impact in someone’s life? Home Instead in Tampa, FL, is seeking dedicated Senior Companions to provide essential non-medical support and companionship to our cherished senior clients. This role offers flexible day shifts, allowing you to create a schedule that works for you, and the convenience of weekly pay. As a Senior Companion, you will build meaningful relationships, assist with daily activities, and help seniors maintain their independence and quality of life within the comfort of their homes. Key Responsibilities

  • Provide engaging companionship and social interaction.
  • Assist clients with light housekeeping tasks, including tidying living areas and laundry.
  • Prepare nutritious meals and assist with feeding as needed.
  • Provide medication reminders and ensure timely adherence to schedules.
  • Assist with personal care activities such as bathing, grooming, and dressing, if client needs require it (training provided).
  • Accompany clients to appointments, errands, and social outings.
  • Engage clients in stimulating activities, hobbies, and conversations.
  • Report any changes in the client's condition or behavior to the appropriate supervisor.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and healthy environment for clients.

Required Skills

  • Genuine compassion, empathy, and a nurturing demeanor.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Proven reliability and punctuality.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions accurately.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
  • Ability to pass a criminal background check and drug screen.
  • Legally authorized to work in the U.S.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a caregiving, companion, or customer service role.
  • CPR and First Aid certification.
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
