Job Description
We are seeking a proactive and technically proficient Specialty Chemical Associate to join our B2B Technical Support team. In this role, you will be the primary point of contact for our business customers, providing expert technical assistance, troubleshooting product-related issues, and offering guidance on the optimal application of our specialty chemical products. This position requires a strong understanding of chemical principles, excellent problem-solving skills, and a commitment to delivering outstanding customer service to our industrial clients. You will collaborate closely with sales, R&D, and production teams to ensure customer satisfaction and product performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide expert technical support and advice to B2B customers regarding the application, properties, and performance of specialty chemical products via phone, email, and occasional on-site visits.
- Diagnose and resolve customer inquiries and product issues, escalating complex problems to senior technical staff or R&D as necessary.
- Conduct product demonstrations and technical presentations for customers, showcasing product features and benefits.
- Collaborate with sales teams to identify customer needs and provide tailored technical solutions.
- Maintain thorough documentation of customer interactions, technical issues, and solutions in the CRM system.
- Stay current with industry trends, product developments, and competitor offerings.
- Assist in the development of technical literature, data sheets, and application guides.
- Participate in product training sessions for internal teams and customers.
Required Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related technical field.
- Strong foundational knowledge of organic and inorganic chemistry principles.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical information clearly.
- Demonstrated problem-solving and analytical abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced B2B environment.
- Strong customer service orientation.
Preferred Qualifications
- 1-3 years of experience in a technical support, R&D, or applications role within the chemical industry.
- Experience with CRM software (e.g., Salesforce).
- Familiarity with various industrial applications of specialty chemicals (e.g., coatings, adhesives, polymers, surfactants).
- Project management skills.
