Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Structural Engineer to join our dynamic team in Overland Park, Kansas. This role is crucial for delivering innovative and robust structural designs across various critical infrastructure projects, including power generation, water treatment facilities, and advanced telecommunications networks. The successful candidate will be instrumental in the analysis, design, and detailing of structures, ensuring compliance with international codes and standards. Key Responsibilities
- Perform structural analysis and design for concrete, steel, and foundation systems using industry-standard software and methodologies.
- Develop detailed design drawings, specifications, and reports for various infrastructure projects.
- Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams (civil, mechanical, electrical, architectural) to ensure integrated design solutions.
- Conduct site visits for existing condition assessments, construction support, and quality assurance.
- Prepare technical proposals, project scopes, and cost estimates.
- Ensure all designs comply with relevant building codes, industry standards, and client requirements (e.g., ASCE, ACI, AISC).
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to the continuous improvement of engineering processes.
Required Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
- Minimum 3 years of progressive experience in structural design within an engineering consultancy or similar environment.
- Proficiency in structural analysis software (e.g., SAP2000, ETABS, STAAD.Pro, RISA).
- Strong understanding of concrete, steel, and foundation design principles.
- Excellent knowledge of international building codes and standards (e.g., IBC, ASCE 7, ACI 318, AISC 360).
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in Structural Engineering.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license or ability to obtain one within 12 months.
- Experience with BIM software (e.g., Revit Structure).
- Prior experience in power, water, or telecommunications infrastructure projects.
- Familiarity with seismic design principles.
