Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Senior Companion Chauffeur with a strong wellness and medical focus to join our compassionate team in Fayetteville, AR. In this pivotal role, you will provide safe and reliable transportation for our senior clients to medical appointments, wellness activities, and social engagements, ensuring their comfort and safety. Beyond driving, you will serve as a vital companion, offering engaging conversation, light assistance, and emotional support. This position is ideal for an empathetic individual who understands the nuances of senior care, possesses exceptional driving skills, and is committed to enhancing the quality of life for our clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely transport senior clients to and from medical appointments, therapy sessions, social events, and other scheduled activities.
- Assist clients with mobility as needed, including getting in and out of the vehicle and navigating entrances/exits.
- Provide engaging companionship and conversation during transportation and waiting periods, fostering a positive and supportive environment.
- Monitor client well-being and communicate any changes or concerns to the appropriate BrightStar Care team members.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and well-maintained vehicle, adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations.
- Assist with light errands and personal shopping as requested by the client or care plan.
- Adhere to strict schedules and ensure timely arrival and departure for all appointments.
- Maintain client confidentiality and uphold the highest standards of professionalism and ethical conduct.
Required Skills
- Valid Driver's License with a clean driving record for at least 5 years.
- Minimum 4 years of professional driving experience, preferably in a caregiving or private chauffeur capacity.
- Proven experience providing companionship and assistance to seniors.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills with a patient and empathetic demeanor.
- Strong understanding of senior mobility challenges and safety protocols.
- Ability to maintain discretion and client confidentiality.
- Proficiency in navigating with GPS and knowledge of Fayetteville and surrounding areas.
Preferred Qualifications
- CPR and First Aid certification.
- Experience with clients requiring specific medical transport needs (e.g., wheelchair assistance, post-operative care).
- Background in healthcare support, social work, or elder care.
- Familiarity with local medical facilities and senior wellness centers.
