Job Description
Are you a detail-oriented student looking to gain practical experience in retail operations and customer experience? Join our team as a Secret Shopping Intern for a paid summer placement. This unique internship offers you the opportunity to objectively evaluate the customer journey, store standards, and associate performance within our King Soopers locations. You will play a crucial role in providing actionable insights that help us enhance our customer service, improve store presentation, and ensure consistent quality across all touchpoints. This hands-on role will develop your observational skills, critical thinking, and report writing abilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct assigned secret shopping visits to various King Soopers store locations within the Greeley area, following specific guidelines and scenarios.
- Objectively evaluate and document observations related to customer service interactions, product availability, store cleanliness, merchandising standards, and overall shopping experience.
- Interact with store associates and management as a regular customer, assessing their adherence to company policies and service expectations.
- Complete detailed and accurate reports for each shop visit, providing constructive feedback and photographic evidence where necessary, within specified deadlines.
- Maintain strict confidentiality regarding all shop details, findings, and company information.
- Communicate effectively with the program coordinator regarding scheduling, visit challenges, and reporting submissions.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and company guidelines during shop visits.
Required Skills
- Currently enrolled in a degree program (e.g., Business, Marketing, Communications, Retail Management, or a related field).
- Excellent observational skills and keen attention to detail.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
- Reliable transportation and willingness to travel to various store locations within Greeley.
- Proficiency in basic computer applications (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite, Google Workspace) for report generation.
- High level of integrity and discretion.

- Previous customer service or retail experience.
- Experience with data entry or report writing.
- Familiarity with market research or customer experience evaluation methodologies.
