Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented QC Instrumentation Chemist to join our Quality Control team in Bozeman, MT. This role is crucial for ensuring the quality and reliability of our products through meticulous analytical testing and instrumentation management. The successful candidate will benefit from expert-level training programs designed to enhance their skills in advanced analytical techniques, method development, and troubleshooting. You will operate and maintain a variety of sophisticated laboratory instruments, analyze raw materials, in-process samples, and finished products, and contribute to the continuous improvement of our quality systems. Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine and non-routine analytical testing of raw materials, in-process samples, and finished products using various analytical instruments (e.g., HPLC, GC, FTIR, UV/Vis, KF).
- Conduct instrument calibration, preventative maintenance, and troubleshooting to ensure optimal performance and data integrity.
- Develop, validate, and transfer analytical methods in accordance with regulatory guidelines and internal quality standards.
- Interpret and report analytical results accurately, identifying and investigating out-of-specification or atypical results.
- Maintain meticulous laboratory records, documentation, and logbooks in compliance with GMP/GLP requirements.
- Participate in root cause analysis for laboratory investigations and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
- Collaborate with R&D, manufacturing, and quality assurance teams to support product development and resolve quality issues.
- Actively engage in expert-level training programs to continuously advance technical knowledge and skills in analytical chemistry and instrumentation.
- Adhere to all safety regulations and laboratory best practices.
Required Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, Biochemistry, or a related scientific discipline.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a Quality Control or analytical laboratory setting, preferably in a regulated industry (e.g., pharmaceutical, biotechnology).
- Proficiency in operating and troubleshooting analytical instruments such as HPLC, GC, FTIR, and UV/Vis.
- Strong understanding of cGMP/GLP regulations and quality systems.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational and documentation skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in Chemistry or a related field.
- Experience with method development and validation.
- Familiarity with laboratory information management systems (LIMS).
- Prior experience with statistical analysis software.
