Key Responsibilities
- Participate actively in all residency program activities, including educational sessions, clinical rotations, and mentorship meetings.
- Provide direct patient care under the supervision of experienced Registered Nurses and preceptors, adhering to hospital policies and procedures.
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care needs and collaborate with the interdisciplinary healthcare team.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, documenting accurately and timely.
- Educate patients and their families on health conditions, medications, and self-care techniques.
- Maintain a safe and therapeutic environment for patients and staff, demonstrating adherence to infection control and safety protocols.
- Utilize critical thinking and problem-solving skills to manage patient care situations effectively.
- Document all aspects of patient care thoroughly and accurately in the electronic health record.
Required Skills
- Graduation from an accredited School of Nursing (ADN or BSN program).
- Current or eligible for Georgia Registered Nurse (RN) licensure prior to program start date.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
- Demonstrated commitment to patient-centered care and professional growth.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree.
- Prior healthcare experience (e.g., CNA, PCT, volunteer) during nursing school.
- Membership in professional nursing organizations.
