Job Description

Baylor Scott & White Health is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Home Consultant with a focus on Transcription for a full-time, remote position. This role is ideal for individuals looking to build a stable career in the healthcare support sector with ample opportunities for growth and skill development. As a Home Consultant, you will be responsible for accurately transcribing various medical documents, ensuring clarity, completeness, and adherence to all privacy regulations. Key Responsibilities

  • Accurately transcribe medical reports, dictated by physicians and other healthcare professionals, using specialized transcription software.
  • Ensure all transcribed documents adhere to established quality standards, medical terminology, grammar, and punctuation.
  • Maintain strict patient confidentiality and comply with all HIPAA regulations.
  • Manage workload effectively to meet daily production goals and deadlines.
  • Review and edit transcribed documents for errors, omissions, and inconsistencies.
  • Collaborate with team leads and colleagues to clarify dictation or improve transcription accuracy.
  • Participate in ongoing training and professional development opportunities.
  • Utilize reference materials and resources to ensure accurate transcription of medical terms and procedures.

Required Skills

  • Exceptional listening skills and ability to discern various accents and dictation speeds.
  • Proficient typing speed (minimum 60 WPM) and high accuracy.
  • Strong knowledge of English grammar, punctuation, and spelling.
  • Familiarity with medical terminology or a strong aptitude for learning it quickly.
  • High level of attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to work independently in a remote environment with minimal supervision.
  • Basic computer proficiency and comfort with transcription software.
  • Reliable high-speed internet connection and a dedicated home office setup.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate's degree or certification in Medical Transcription.
  • Previous experience (1+ years) in medical transcription or a related field.
  • Proficiency with specific Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems.
  • Understanding of human anatomy, physiology, and pharmacology.
  • Experience with voice recognition editing.
