Job Description
We are seeking dedicated and reliable Food Prep Packers to join our team in Rio Rancho, NM. This position operates within a cold room environment, requiring a tolerance for cooler temperatures, for which premium pay is offered. As a Food Prep Packer, you will be responsible for accurately preparing and packaging various food products, ensuring quality, safety, and efficiency throughout the process. Attention to detail, adherence to food safety standards, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced setting are crucial for success in this role.
Key Responsibilities
- Accurately prepare, portion, and package a variety of food products according to established specifications and quality standards.
- Operate basic food preparation and packaging equipment safely and efficiently.
- Maintain a clean and organized work station, adhering to all sanitation and hygiene policies in a cold room environment.
- Monitor product quality and report any discrepancies or issues to a supervisor immediately.
- Ensure proper labeling and dating of all packaged goods.
- Follow all company policies, procedures, and safety guidelines, with a strong emphasis on food safety (HACCP, GMP).
- Assist with inventory management and stock rotation as needed.
- Collaborate with team members to meet production goals and deadlines.
- Lift and move boxes or items up to 50 pounds regularly.
Required Skills
- Ability to work comfortably and safely in a cold storage or refrigerated environment for extended periods.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in all tasks.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions precisely.
- Basic understanding of food safety and sanitation principles.
- Physical stamina to stand, walk, lift, bend, and reach throughout an entire shift.
- Reliable transportation and punctuality.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds consistently.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience in food preparation, production, or warehouse packing.
- Experience working in a refrigerated or cold storage environment.
- Knowledge of HACCP or other food safety certification.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
