Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Fleet Operations Manager to join our team in Idaho Falls. This role is crucial for overseeing the daily operations of our vehicle fleet, ensuring efficiency, compliance, and cost-effectiveness. The Fleet Operations Manager will be responsible for managing drivers, maintenance schedules, route optimization, and adherence to safety regulations. Key Responsibilities
- Manage the daily operations of the fleet, including dispatch, routing, and scheduling of vehicles and drivers.
- Oversee vehicle maintenance and repair schedules to ensure fleet reliability and compliance with safety standards.
- Monitor driver performance, conduct training, and ensure adherence to company policies and DOT regulations.
- Optimize routes and schedules to improve efficiency and reduce operational costs.
- Implement and maintain robust safety programs to ensure a safe working environment and compliance with all regulations.
- Manage inventory of parts and supplies for fleet maintenance.
- Prepare and analyze operational reports, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless logistics and supply chain operations.
- Manage budget and expenses related to fleet operations.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in fleet management or logistics operations (minimum 5 years).
- Strong understanding of DOT regulations, safety standards, and transportation laws.
- Proficiency in fleet management software and GPS tracking systems.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to analyze data and make informed decisions.
- Strong problem-solving and organizational abilities.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Certified Fleet Manager (CFM) certification or equivalent.
- Experience with P&L management in a transportation setting.
- Familiarity with the Idaho Falls and surrounding regional transportation network.
