Job Description
We are seeking highly skilled and dedicated Linehaul Drivers to join our FedEx Express team in The Woodlands, TX. As a Linehaul Driver, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient transportation of freight between FedEx hubs and terminals, adhering strictly to all federal, state, and company regulations. You will play a crucial role in ensuring timely deliveries and maintaining the integrity of our expansive network.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely operate heavy-duty trucks (tractor-trailers) for long-distance routes, primarily linehaul operations.
- Transport freight between FedEx Express hubs, terminals, and distribution centers.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles and equipment, reporting any defects or issues.
- Adhere to all Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations and company safety standards.
- Ensure accurate completion of all required paperwork, logs, and electronic logging device (ELD) entries.
- Maintain a professional and courteous demeanor with all FedEx personnel and partners.
- Manage time effectively to meet scheduled delivery and pick-up times.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and operations teams regarding route status, delays, or incidents.
- Operate vehicles in varying weather conditions and traffic situations.
- Secure freight properly to prevent damage during transit.
Required Skills
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL A).
- Minimum of 2 years of verifiable Class A CDL driving experience.
- Clean driving record (MVR) with no serious violations.
- Ability to pass a DOT physical and drug screen.
- Strong understanding of DOT regulations and safety protocols.
- Ability to operate electronic logging devices (ELDs) and other in-cab technology.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
Preferred Qualifications
- Hazmat endorsement.
- Doubles/Triples endorsement.
- Experience with linehaul or long-haul operations.
- High School Diploma or GED.
