Job Description
We are seeking highly skilled and detail-oriented individuals for the role of AI Translation Quality Rater. This 100% remote position is crucial for enhancing the accuracy and fluency of AI-powered translation systems across multiple languages. You will be responsible for evaluating the quality of translated text, identifying errors, providing constructive feedback, and ensuring linguistic and cultural appropriateness. This role requires strong linguistic abilities, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Evaluate machine-translated text for accuracy, fluency, grammar, syntax, and cultural appropriateness across various language pairs.
- Identify and categorize translation errors, providing clear and concise explanations and corrections.
- Provide objective and consistent quality ratings based on established guidelines and metrics.
- Participate in calibration sessions to ensure consistency in rating standards across the team.
- Contribute to the improvement of translation guidelines and tools by providing feedback and insights.
- Manage workload effectively to meet daily and weekly quality and productivity targets.
- Maintain strict confidentiality regarding all project-related information.
Required Skills
- Native-level fluency in English and at least one other language (with strong proficiency in additional languages highly valued).
- Exceptional understanding of linguistic nuances, grammar, and cultural contexts.
- Proven ability to identify and categorize translation errors accurately.
- Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.
- Proficiency in using online tools and comfortable with technology.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a remote setting.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Linguistics, Translation, or a related field.
- Previous experience in translation, localization, or linguistic quality assurance.
- Familiarity with AI and machine learning concepts.
- Experience with Computer-Assisted Translation (CAT) tools.
