Job Description
We are seeking reliable and experienced Agricultural Haulers to join our team for the upcoming seasonal harvest. This role is crucial for ensuring the timely and efficient transport of fresh produce from our farms to packing facilities, contributing directly to the success of our harvest operations. You will be responsible for operating large agricultural vehicles and trucks, maintaining strict safety standards, and adhering to delivery schedules across the regional Pasco area.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely operate heavy agricultural equipment and trucks to transport raw produce (e.g., fruits, vegetables) from fields to processing plants or storage facilities.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections on vehicles and equipment, reporting any defects or maintenance needs promptly.
- Adhere to all traffic laws, company safety policies, and Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations.
- Ensure produce is loaded and unloaded securely to prevent damage during transit.
- Maintain accurate logs of deliveries, mileage, and fuel consumption.
- Communicate effectively with farm managers, dispatchers, and packinghouse staff.
- Assist with basic vehicle maintenance or cleaning as required.
Required Skills
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL)
- Clean driving record
- Proven experience operating heavy trucks and trailers
- Ability to work long hours, including nights and weekends, during peak harvest season
- Strong understanding of DOT regulations and agricultural safety protocols
- Physical stamina to handle demanding work in various weather conditions
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience hauling agricultural commodities
- Knowledge of local Pasco and surrounding agricultural routes
- Experience with refrigerated trailers or specialized farm equipment
- High school diploma or GED
