Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Think Tank Librarian with a strong focus on Information Management to join our advanced research division in Henderson, Nevada. In this crucial role, you will be instrumental in managing, organizing, and disseminating critical information to support our strategic research initiatives. You will leverage your expertise to enhance our knowledge management systems, facilitate access to diverse data sources, and provide high-level research support to our teams of experts and thought leaders. This position requires a proactive individual with a deep understanding of information science, strong analytical skills, and a passion for supporting groundbreaking research.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and manage advanced information management systems and databases to support think tank research.
- Curate, organize, and maintain extensive collections of digital and physical resources, ensuring easy accessibility and discoverability.
- Conduct in-depth research and analysis across a wide range of subjects, providing comprehensive summaries and reports to researchers and leadership.
- Evaluate, select, and integrate new information technologies and tools to enhance research capabilities and information retrieval.
- Provide expert guidance and training to researchers on effective information search strategies, resource utilization, and knowledge management best practices.
- Monitor industry trends, emerging technologies, and geopolitical developments to identify relevant information sources and proactively support research needs.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to foster information sharing and build a robust knowledge ecosystem.
- Ensure compliance with data privacy, intellectual property, and security regulations in all information management activities.
Required Skills
- Master's degree in Library Science (MLS/MLIS) or Information Science from an ALA-accredited program.
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in a research library, think tank, or corporate information center setting, with a focus on information management.
- Demonstrated expertise in designing, implementing, and managing knowledge management systems and databases.
- Proficiency in advanced research methodologies, data analysis tools, and information retrieval techniques.
- Strong understanding of metadata standards, cataloging principles, and taxonomy development.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to synthesize complex information for diverse audiences.
- Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic research environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with specialized research databases relevant to aerospace, defense, or advanced technology sectors.
- Familiarity with intellectual property rights, copyright law, and data governance policies.
- Project management experience in information services or library initiatives.
- Proficiency in additional languages relevant to global research.
- Certifications in knowledge management or information technology.
