Job Description

In this remote role, you will connect with students via video chat, providing personalized, one-on-one or small group support to help them understand complex concepts, improve their grades, and build confidence. This is a fantastic opportunity for individuals who excel at explaining subjects clearly, enjoy working with students, and desire a flexible work schedule from the comfort of their home.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide engaging and effective online tutoring sessions in Math (e.g., Algebra, Geometry, Calculus) and/or English (e.g., Grammar, Writing, Reading Comprehension) to students of various academic levels.
- Tailor teaching methods and explanations to suit individual student learning styles and needs.
- Utilize our interactive video chat platform and tools to create an immersive and productive learning environment.
- Actively listen to student questions and challenges, offering clear, concise, and patient guidance.
- Monitor student progress, provide constructive feedback, and help students develop effective study strategies.
- Maintain a professional and encouraging demeanor during all tutoring sessions.
- Adhere to Chegg's tutoring best practices and content guidelines.
Required Skills
- Proficiency in Math (up to high school or college level) or English (strong grasp of grammar, writing mechanics, and reading comprehension).
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport and motivate students.
- Reliable high-speed internet connection, a computer with a webcam, and a quiet, professional workspace.
- Ability to explain complex concepts in an understandable and engaging manner.
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine desire to help students succeed.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in tutoring, teaching, or mentoring.
- Currently enrolled in or possess a Bachelor's degree or higher in Mathematics, English, Education, or a related field.
- Familiarity with online learning platforms and virtual communication tools.
- Availability during peak student tutoring hours (evenings and weekends).
