Job Description
Are you 16 years old, eager to start your first job, and ready to learn valuable retail skills? Walmart in Santa Maria, CA is looking for enthusiastic and motivated teens to join our team as Retail Cashiers. No prior experience is required, as we provide comprehensive training on all aspects of register operation, customer service, and store policies. This is an excellent opportunity to gain practical work experience, develop professional skills, and contribute to a fast-paced retail environment. Key Responsibilities
- Operate cash registers accurately and efficiently, processing various payment types.
- Greet customers warmly and provide friendly, helpful service.
- Scan merchandise, bag purchases, and assist customers with their items.
- Handle cash, credit, and debit transactions, ensuring accuracy and accountability.
- Maintain a clean and organized checkout area.
- Assist customers with product inquiries and direct them to appropriate departments.
- Follow all company policies and procedures regarding transactions and customer service.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure a smooth and efficient store operation.
- Participate in ongoing training and development programs.
Required Skills
- Must be 16 years of age or older.
- Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- A positive, can-do attitude and willingness to learn.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 lbs.
- Reliability and punctuality.
