Job Description
We are seeking an enthusiastic and community-minded Dive Boat Helper to join our team for the summer season. Based out of our Derby operations with duties primarily at Carsington Water and other regional water bodies, this role is perfect for individuals who love being on the water, enjoy interacting with people, and are eager to support various watersports and diving activities. You will be instrumental in ensuring a safe, enjoyable, and efficient experience for all participants. This is a highly interactive role, requiring strong communication skills and a proactive approach to guest support and operational duties. This is an on-site position, crucial for hands-on boat operations and direct guest interaction.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the Dive Master, Captain, or Watersports Instructor with all aspects of boat operations, including pre-trip checks, docking, and fueling.
- Help guests with boarding, disembarking, and general comfort on the boat.
- Manage and organize dive and watersports equipment, ensuring it is properly stored, maintained, and accounted for.
- Maintain the cleanliness and tidiness of the boat and associated equipment.
- Provide excellent customer service, fostering a friendly and welcoming atmosphere for all participants.
- Act as a safety spotter and assist with safety procedures as directed by the lead instructor or captain.
- Assist with basic first aid and emergency response if needed, under supervision.
- Support the preparation and packing of provisions and supplies for boat trips.
- Engage actively with guests, answering questions and enhancing their overall experience.

Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in customer service or a hospitality role.
- Basic knowledge of boating or watersports activities.
- First Aid and CPR certification.
- A genuine interest in marine life, environmental conservation, or watersports.
- PADI Open Water Diver certification or equivalent is a bonus but not required.
