Job Description
We are looking for enthusiastic and dedicated individuals to join our FedEx Express team in Fairfield, CA. This immediate-start position is critical to our daily operations, ensuring packages are handled efficiently and delivered promptly. As a key member of our operations, you will be responsible for a variety of tasks crucial to maintaining our high standards of service. This is an on-site role requiring a strong work ethic and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Efficiently sort, scan, and process incoming and outgoing packages according to company standards.
- Safely load and unload freight from vehicles, ensuring proper handling and placement.
- Operate various material handling equipment, such as pallet jacks and hand trucks, as required.
- Perform routine pre-trip and post-trip inspections of equipment and vehicles (if applicable) to ensure safety and operational readiness.
- Adhere strictly to all company safety regulations, procedures, and transportation laws.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment at all times.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure timely completion of tasks and operational goals.
- Provide exceptional service to ensure customer satisfaction through accurate and timely package handling.
Required Skills
- Ability to safely lift, push, pull, and carry packages weighing up to 75 lbs.
- Basic literacy and numeracy skills to read labels, sort packages, and perform simple calculations.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in all tasks.
- Capacity to work effectively and maintain productivity in a dynamic, high-volume environment.
- A valid state driver's license (if the role involves driving).
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift for extended periods.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience in a warehouse, logistics, or package handling environment.
- Familiarity with handheld scanning devices and inventory management systems.
- High school diploma or General Educational Development (GED) certificate.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
