Job Description
Elderwood is seeking a compassionate and reliable Respite Care Aide to join our team for casual weekend work in Buffalo, NY. This immediate hire opportunity is perfect for individuals looking to make a positive impact on the lives of others while maintaining a flexible schedule. As a Respite Care Aide, you will provide temporary relief to primary caregivers, offering essential support, companionship, and assistance with daily activities for individuals in their homes or within our facilities during weekend hours. Your role will be crucial in ensuring the well-being and comfort of those under your care, providing a safe and engaging environment while giving caregivers a much-needed break. Key Responsibilities
- Provide companionship and engage individuals in stimulating activities.
- Assist with personal care, including bathing, dressing, and grooming, as needed.
- Support mobility and transfers, adhering to safety protocols.
- Prepare light meals and assist with feeding, if required.
- Perform light household tasks directly related to the client's immediate needs.
- Administer medication reminders as per care plan.
- Document services provided and report any changes in the individual's condition to the supervising nurse or case manager.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and comfortable environment for the individual.
- Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and ethical standards.
Required Skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

- Ability to follow care plans and instructions accurately.
- Reliability and punctuality for scheduled shifts.
- Basic understanding of personal care techniques.
- Ability to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.

- Previous experience in a caregiving role (personal or professional).
