Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Apple Hardware Systems Aide to provide essential technical design support to our hardware engineering teams. In this role, you will play a crucial part in the design, development, and testing phases of Apple’s next-generation products. This position involves providing hands-on technical assistance, meticulous documentation management, conducting basic diagnostics, and ensuring the efficient and organized operation of our lab environments. The ideal candidate will possess a foundational understanding of electronics and hardware systems, a strong aptitude for problem-solving, and an eagerness to learn and contribute within a fast-paced, innovative environment. Key Responsibilities

  • Provide direct technical assistance to hardware engineers during all phases of product development, prototyping, and testing.
  • Maintain and meticulously organize lab equipment, prototypes, and various testing environments to ensure operational readiness.
  • Assist with comprehensive documentation, including the creation of detailed test reports, precise data logs, and accurate system configuration records.
  • Perform basic diagnostic tests, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis on hardware components and integrated systems.
  • Support the careful assembly, disassembly, and rework of prototypes for design analysis, validation, and iteration.
  • Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including design, software, and quality assurance, to ensure all design specifications and performance metrics are consistently met.
  • Manage and track inventory of electronic components, parts, and supplies required for ongoing and future projects.
  • Contribute proactively to the continuous improvement of lab processes, safety protocols, and operational efficiency.
  • Learn and apply new technical skills and knowledge as required by evolving project needs.

Required Skills

  • Foundational understanding of electronics principles, digital and analog circuits, and common hardware components.
  • Proficiency in using basic lab equipment, such as multimeters, oscilloscopes, power supplies, and logic analyzers.
  • Strong organizational skills with an exceptional attention to detail in managing tasks, equipment, and documentation.
  • Demonstrated ability to follow complex technical instructions, schematics, and protocols accurately and consistently.
  • Basic computer literacy, including familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word) or equivalent documentation tools.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills for effective collaboration within a team.
  • A genuine passion for technology, particularly in consumer electronics, and a strong willingness to learn and adapt.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate's degree or technical certification in Electrical Engineering Technology, Computer Hardware Technology, or a closely related field.
  • Previous experience (internship or entry-level) in a hardware lab, technical support, or manufacturing environment.
  • Familiarity with CAD software (e.g., Altium Designer, Eagle, SolidWorks) or the ability to read and interpret electronic schematics and PCB layouts.
  • Experience with scripting languages (e.g., Python) for test automation or data processing.
