Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated Pharmacy Compliance Assistant with a strong regulatory focus to join our Glendale team. This role offers stable work and is critical in supporting our pharmacy operations by ensuring adherence to all federal, state, and local pharmaceutical regulations. The ideal candidate will possess exceptional attention to detail, a foundational understanding of regulatory requirements, and a proactive approach to maintaining compliance standards within a fast-paced retail pharmacy environment. This position plays a vital role in protecting patient safety and our company’s reputation.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with the preparation and maintenance of regulatory documentation and reports.
- Monitor changes in pharmacy laws and regulations, and help disseminate updates to relevant staff.
- Support internal and external audits by gathering required information and documentation.
- Ensure all pharmacy operations align with corporate compliance policies and standard operating procedures.
- Maintain accurate records of all compliance-related activities and training.
- Assist in developing and delivering compliance training materials to pharmacy staff.
- Conduct regular reviews of pharmacy processes to identify potential compliance risks.
- Collaborate with pharmacy management to implement corrective actions for identified non-compliance issues.
Required Skills
- Exceptional organizational and time management skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
- Basic understanding of pharmacy operations and pharmaceutical regulations.
- High level of attention to detail and accuracy.
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g., healthcare administration, public health).
- Previous experience in a pharmacy or healthcare setting, particularly in a compliance or administrative role.
- Knowledge of state and federal pharmacy laws (e.g., HIPAA, FDA regulations, Board of Pharmacy rules).
- Familiarity with pharmacy management software systems.
- Certification as a Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) is a plus.
