Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and proactive Google Cybersecurity Analyst to join our remote Security Operations team. This role is crucial for monitoring, detecting, analyzing, and responding to cyber threats that could impact Google’s global infrastructure and user base. You will work within a dynamic, fast-paced environment, leveraging cutting-edge security tools and methodologies to maintain a robust security posture. This is a 100% remote position, offering flexibility and the opportunity to contribute to critical security initiatives from anywhere within the UK.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform real-time monitoring and analysis of security alerts from various security tools (SIEM, EDR, IDS/IPS).
- Investigate security incidents, determine their root cause, and implement appropriate containment and remediation strategies.
- Develop and refine detection rules and playbooks to enhance incident response capabilities.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering and IT operations, to address security vulnerabilities and improve security controls.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest cybersecurity threats, trends, and technologies.
- Participate in on-call rotation to provide 24/7 security incident response coverage.
- Prepare detailed incident reports and communicate findings to relevant stakeholders.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of security operations processes and procedures.
Required Skills
- Proven experience (3+ years) in a Security Operations Center (SOC) or similar cybersecurity role.
- Strong understanding of common attack techniques, tactics, and procedures (TTPs).
- Proficiency with SIEM platforms (e.g., Splunk, Elastic SIEM, Chronicle Security Operations).
- Experience with endpoint detection and response (EDR) tools.
- Knowledge of network protocols, operating systems (Linux, Windows), and cloud environments (GCP, AWS, Azure).
- Ability to analyze security logs, network traffic, and forensic data.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Relevant industry certifications (e.g., CompTIA Security+, CySA+, GSEC, GCIA).
- Experience with scripting languages (e.g., Python, PowerShell) for automation.
- Familiarity with MITRE ATT&CK framework.
- Understanding of incident response frameworks (e.g., NIST, SANS).
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field.
