Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Junior Policy Outreach Coordinator to join our team in Greeley, Colorado. This entry-level role is perfect for individuals passionate about environmental policy and eager to make a real-world impact. You will be instrumental in supporting our policy advocacy efforts through research, community engagement, and stakeholder coordination. This role requires frequent travel within Colorado and potentially to neighboring states to build relationships and gather insights. Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the research and analysis of environmental policies and regulations at local, state, and federal levels.
- Support the development of outreach strategies to engage diverse stakeholders, including community leaders, elected officials, and local organizations.
- Coordinate and attend public meetings, workshops, and advocacy events, representing EDF and its mission.
- Prepare presentations, reports, and communication materials to convey complex policy information clearly and effectively.
- Build and maintain relationships with key partners and community members through regular communication and site visits.
- Document outreach activities, feedback, and engagement outcomes to inform strategy adjustments.
- Travel frequently (up to 40%) within the region to support grassroots efforts and policy campaigns.
Required Skills
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to conduct basic research and synthesize information.
- Strong interpersonal skills and a proven ability to build relationships.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Valid driver's license and willingness to travel frequently.
- Demonstrated passion for environmental issues and policy advocacy.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Studies, Political Science, Public Policy, Communications, or a related field.
- Prior experience (volunteer or internship) in advocacy, community organizing, or policy research.
- Familiarity with local and state environmental policy landscape in Colorado.
- Fluency in Spanish or other languages relevant to the community.
