Job Description

We are actively seeking a skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) to join our General Medical Floor team in Henrico, Virginia. Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive patient assessments and develop individualized nursing care plans.
  • Administer medications and treatments accurately and safely, adhering to all hospital policies.
  • Monitor, record, and report changes in patient conditions, vital signs, and symptoms.
  • Provide direct patient care, including wound care, catheter management, and assistance with daily living activities.
  • Educate patients and their families on health maintenance, disease processes, and post-discharge care.
  • Respond effectively to medical emergencies, providing immediate intervention and coordinating with the medical team.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure continuity of care and effective patient management.
  • Maintain precise and thorough electronic health records (EHR) documentation.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and professional development programs.
  • Adhere strictly to all regulatory standards, patient safety protocols, and ethical guidelines.

Required Skills

  • Current licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the Commonwealth of Virginia or a compact state.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Registered Nurse in an acute care setting, preferably on a medical-surgical unit.
  • Demonstrated strong clinical assessment, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Proficiency in using electronic health record (EHR) systems.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple patients in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree.
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
  • Certification in Medical-Surgical Nursing (CMSRN).
  • Experience with specialty equipment relevant to general medical floors.
