Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented Digital Map Verifier with exceptional local geography knowledge of Quebec City and surrounding regions to join our remote team. In this role, you will play a crucial part in enhancing the accuracy and quality of Google Maps. You will review and verify geographic data, identify discrepancies, and provide insights based on your understanding of local landmarks, roads, and points of interest. This is a remote position, allowing you to work from the comfort of your home while contributing to a globally used product.

Key Responsibilities

  • Verify and validate geographic data, including roads, addresses, businesses, and natural features, against various sources.
  • Utilize local knowledge of Quebec City and its surroundings to identify and correct inaccuracies in map data.
  • Report and document data inconsistencies, potential errors, and missing information using internal tools.
  • Provide constructive feedback and suggest improvements to enhance map data quality and verification processes.
  • Stay informed about local developments, infrastructure changes, and new points of interest within the designated geographic area.
  • Collaborate with a remote team to maintain high standards of data accuracy and contribute to team knowledge sharing.
  • Adhere to strict data quality guidelines and performance metrics.

Required Skills

  • Excellent local geography knowledge of Quebec City and surrounding areas.
  • Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.
  • Proficiency in using web-based mapping applications and tools.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a remote environment.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, in English.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in data verification, quality assurance, or a related field.
  • Familiarity with GIS concepts or mapping data.
  • Fluency in French (reading and understanding local nuances).
