Job Description
Join our team at WHSmith in Bradford as a Magazine Sorter! This is an excellent opportunity for students looking for flexible, indoor work that fits around their studies. You’ll be responsible for organizing and preparing incoming magazine deliveries, ensuring they are accurately sorted and ready for distribution within our stores or designated areas. This role requires attention to detail, reliability, and an ability to work efficiently in a warehouse or backroom environment. No prior experience is required, as full training will be provided.
Key Responsibilities
- Receive and unload incoming deliveries of magazines and publications.
- Accurately sort magazines by title, date, and destination according to established procedures.
- Organize sorted magazines onto trolleys or shelves for easy access and distribution.
- Inspect magazines for damage or discrepancies and report issues to supervisors.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Adhere to all company safety and operational guidelines.
Required Skills
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 10kg.
- Basic literacy and numeracy skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Reliable and punctual.
- Ability to follow instructions effectively.
- Self-motivated and able to work independently.
- Enthusiastic and willing to learn.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a warehouse, retail, or sorting environment (beneficial but not essential).
- Strong organizational skills.
- A positive attitude and good work ethic.
- Currently enrolled as a student.
