Job Description
Are you a passionate animal lover looking for a rewarding part-time opportunity on weekends? PetSmart in Green Bay is seeking enthusiastic and reliable individuals to join our team as a Kennel Helper. In this role, you will be responsible for providing a safe, clean, and caring environment for pets staying in our boarding facilities. Key Responsibilities
- Clean and sanitize kennels, play areas, and feeding dishes regularly to maintain a hygienic environment.
- Provide food and fresh water to all animals according to their specific dietary needs and schedules.
- Monitor the health and behavior of pets, reporting any concerns or changes to management.
- Administer medication as directed by pet parents and supervisors.
- Exercise and play with animals, ensuring they receive adequate physical activity and social interaction.
- Comfort and reassure anxious or nervous pets.
- Assist with check-ins and check-outs of boarding pets.
- Maintain accurate records of feeding, medication, and daily activities.
- Perform general cleaning duties in the facility as needed.
Required Skills
- Genuine love and compassion for animals.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Reliability and punctuality, especially for weekend shifts.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.
- Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs, bend, stoop, and stand for extended periods.
- Excellent communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience working with animals (e.g., volunteer, pet owner, previous kennel work).
- Basic knowledge of animal behavior.
- Pet First Aid and CPR certification.
