Job Description
Are you a high school student looking for an exciting opportunity to work outdoors and develop valuable landscaping skills? BrightView is seeking energetic and dedicated individuals to join our Yard Crew in Moreno Valley. This role is perfect for those who enjoy physical work, have an interest in landscaping, and want to contribute to maintaining beautiful outdoor spaces. You’ll gain hands-on experience, learn about various plants and equipment, and be part of a supportive team. This is an on-site position.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform general landscaping duties including mowing, weeding, edging, and blowing.
- Assist with planting flowers, shrubs, and trees.
- Participate in irrigation system checks and basic repairs.
- Operate various landscaping equipment safely and efficiently (e.g., mowers, trimmers, blowers) under supervision.
- Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of work sites.
- Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures.
- Collaborate effectively with team members to complete tasks.
- Report any equipment malfunctions or safety concerns to supervisors.
- Assist with the seasonal cleanup of properties.
Required Skills
- Ability to perform physical labor, including lifting up to 50 lbs, bending, stooping, and standing for extended periods.
- Comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Strong work ethic and reliability.
- Ability to follow instructions and work effectively in a team environment.
- Punctuality and a positive attitude.
- Basic understanding of safety practices.
- Eagerness to learn and develop new skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in high school or recently graduated.
- Prior experience in landscaping or outdoor maintenance is a plus but not required.
- Valid California Driver's License and a clean driving record.
- Experience with basic hand tools and power landscaping equipment.
