Job Description
Join Walmart’s dedicated transportation team as a Retail Distribution Driver, specializing in local night shifts. This full-time role offers premium pay for evening and overnight routes, ensuring our stores are stocked and ready for customers. You will be responsible for the safe and efficient transportation of goods from our distribution center to various retail locations within a defined local area. Key Responsibilities
- Safely operate a commercial vehicle on local routes during night shifts.
- Timely pick-up and delivery of retail merchandise to designated store locations.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles and equipment.
- Maintain accurate logbooks, delivery records, and all required documentation.
- Adhere to all local, state, and federal transportation regulations, including DOT.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch, warehouse personnel, and store staff.
- Ensure load security and integrity throughout the transportation process.
- Represent Walmart professionally and courteously at all times.
Required Skills
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL).
- Clean driving record with no major violations.
- Ability to pass a DOT physical and drug screen.
- Strong understanding of DOT regulations and safety protocols.
- Physical ability to perform routine tasks associated with driving and loading/unloading (e.g., climbing, bending, lifting).
- Excellent time management and organizational skills.
- Reliable and punctual, with a strong work ethic.
Preferred Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of verifiable commercial driving experience.
- Experience with night shift driving and local route knowledge in the DFW metroplex.
- Familiarity with electronic logging devices (ELDs) and transportation management systems.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
