Job Description
Join Dignity Health as an Urgent Care Nurse Practitioner and make an immediate impact within our dynamic Las Vegas facility. We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate NP to work a convenient 4-day work week, allowing for an excellent work-life balance. As an Urgent Care Nurse Practitioner, you will be a vital part of our patient care team, providing high-quality, efficient, and compassionate medical care to individuals of all ages presenting with acute illnesses and injuries. This role offers the opportunity to work independently while being supported by a collaborative team environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Performing comprehensive physical examinations and histories.
- Diagnosing and treating common acute illnesses and injuries.
- Ordering, interpreting, and evaluating diagnostic tests.
- Prescribing medications and treatments appropriately.
- Educating patients and families on health maintenance and disease prevention.
- Collaborating with physicians and other healthcare professionals to ensure continuity of care.
- Maintaining accurate and timely electronic health records.
- Participating in quality improvement initiatives.
Required Skills
- Current, unrestricted Nurse Practitioner license in the State of Nevada.
- Master's or Doctorate Degree in Nursing from an accredited program.
- Board Certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) or Adult-Gerontology Primary Care Nurse Practitioner (AGPCNP).
- Current DEA registration.
- BLS and ACLS certification.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Nurse Practitioner, preferably in an urgent care, emergency medicine, or primary care setting.
- Strong diagnostic and clinical decision-making skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) systems.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with pediatric patients in an urgent care setting.
- Fluency in Spanish or other languages.
- Previous experience with EPIC EHR system.
- Certification in Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS).
