Job Description

Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct supervision and support to youth during weekend program activities and outings.
- Facilitate group discussions and individual conversations to address concerns, promote positive social skills, and encourage personal growth.
- Assist in the implementation of structured recreational, educational, and therapeutic activities.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized environment, ensuring adherence to all safety protocols and guidelines.
- Document observations, progress, and incidents accurately and in a timely manner.
- Collaborate with senior staff and other team members to develop and execute youth-centered plans.
- Serve as a positive role model, demonstrating appropriate behavior and communication.
- Offer crisis intervention and de-escalation support as needed, following established procedures.
Required Skills
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, especially with adolescents.
- Demonstrated empathy, patience, and a non-judgmental approach.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Reliability and punctuality for weekend shifts.
- Basic computer proficiency for documentation purposes.
- Must pass a background check and drug screening.
Preferred Qualifications
- Some college coursework in Psychology, Social Work, Education, or a related field.
- Previous volunteer or paid experience working with youth (e.g., camp counselor, mentor, tutor).
- Certification in First Aid and CPR.
- Knowledge of local community resources for youth and families.
- Bilingual skills (especially Spanish) are a plus.
