Job Description
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Shipping and Receiving Clerk with a strong focus on data entry to join our dynamic team in Temecula, CA. In this role, you will be crucial in maintaining accurate inventory records, processing incoming and outgoing shipments, and ensuring the smooth flow of goods through our distribution center. Your primary responsibility will involve precise data entry into our warehouse management systems, verifying information, and resolving discrepancies. This is an on-site, full-time position requiring meticulous attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
Key Responsibilities
- Accurately record and process all incoming and outgoing shipments using internal software and systems.
- Perform data entry tasks related to inventory tracking, order fulfillment, and shipment details with high precision.
- Verify the accuracy of shipping and receiving documents against physical goods.
- Generate shipping labels, packing lists, and other necessary documentation.
- Communicate effectively with carriers, vendors, and internal departments regarding shipment status and discrepancies.
- Assist in organizing and maintaining the shipping and receiving area for optimal efficiency and safety.
- Conduct regular audits of data entry to ensure consistency and resolve any errors promptly.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and company policies.
Required Skills
- Proven experience with data entry, strong typing skills, and attention to detail.
- Proficiency in using warehouse management systems (WMS) or similar inventory software.
- Basic computer skills, including experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word).
- Ability to accurately count, verify, and record inventory.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Physical ability to lift up to 25 lbs and stand/walk for extended periods.
Preferred Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- 1-2 years of experience in a shipping, receiving, or logistics role.
- Familiarity with standard shipping procedures and documentation.
- Experience with barcode scanners and inventory management tools.
