Job Description

Bluebird Care Wolverhampton is seeking compassionate Elderly Companions to provide invaluable social support and assistance to our clients in their homes. This flexible role focuses purely on companionship, helping clients maintain their independence, social connections, and overall well-being. Key Responsibilities
- Engage clients in stimulating conversation and activities, such as reading, games, or hobbies.
- Accompany clients on outings, appointments, or social events, providing transport and support.
- Assist with light household tasks, such as tidying, laundry, or grocery shopping.
- Help with meal preparation and encourage healthy eating habits.
- Provide a consistent sense of security, friendship, and a friendly presence.
- Run errands or assist with shopping, respecting client preferences.
- Offer emotional support and actively listen to clients' needs and concerns.
Required Skills
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
- A compassionate, patient, and empathetic nature.
- Reliability, punctuality, and a strong sense of responsibility.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
- Right to work in the UK.
- Successful completion of an enhanced DBS check (provided by us).
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a social care or companion role (even informal care for family/friends).
- Basic understanding of the needs and challenges of older adults.
- Full UK driving license and access to a reliable car.
- Basic First Aid certification.
