Job Description
Are you passionate about pets and love spending time outdoors? Rover UK is seeking enthusiastic and reliable Dog Walkers to join our network in Plymouth. You will be responsible for providing safe, fun, and engaging walks for a variety of dogs, ensuring their well-being and happiness while their owners are away. This role offers the ultimate flexibility, allowing you to set your own schedule and work in various suburbs across Plymouth.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely and responsibly walk dogs of various breeds and sizes, adhering to client instructions and safety protocols.
- Provide exercise, mental stimulation, and companionship during walks.
- Maintain a clean and safe walking environment, including waste disposal.
- Communicate effectively and regularly with pet owners, providing updates and photos.
- Manage your schedule and availability through the Rover platform.
- Ensure the safety and well-being of all dogs under your care.
- Adhere to all local pet ordinances and regulations.
Required Skills
- Genuine love for animals and understanding of dog behavior.
- Reliability, punctuality, and strong time management skills.
- Physical fitness and ability to walk dogs in various weather conditions for extended periods.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Access to reliable transportation (preferred, but not always essential depending on area).
- Must be 18 years or older and legally eligible to work in the UK.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous professional or volunteer experience with dogs (e.g., dog walking, pet sitting, kennel work).
- Knowledge of canine first aid and CPR.
- Experience with various dog breeds and temperaments.
