Job Description
We are seeking a talented and detail-oriented Audio Editor to join our dynamic Digital News & Content team in Downey, CA. This role is crucial for enhancing the quality and impact of our digital audio content, including news segments, podcasts, and online features. You will be responsible for editing, mixing, and mastering audio files to meet broadcast and digital standards, ensuring clarity, consistency, and a professional sound. The ideal candidate will have a strong ear for detail, proficiency in audio editing software, and a passion for news and digital storytelling. This position offers flexible hours to accommodate peak content production times and personal scheduling needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Edit and assemble raw audio recordings into polished, professional-grade content for various digital platforms.
- Mix audio elements, including voiceovers, music, sound effects, and interviews, to achieve optimal balance and clarity.
- Perform audio restoration, noise reduction, and equalization to improve sound quality.
- Ensure all audio content adheres to established branding, journalistic, and technical standards.
- Collaborate closely with producers, reporters, and content creators to understand project requirements and deliver on creative vision.
- Manage and organize audio assets, maintaining an efficient workflow.
- Meet strict deadlines in a fast-paced news and content production environment.
- Provide constructive feedback on audio recordings to improve source quality.
- Stay current with industry trends and audio editing technologies.
- Archive finished projects and maintain proper documentation.
Required Skills
- Proficiency in industry-standard audio editing software (e.g., Adobe Audition, Pro Tools, Logic Pro X).
- Strong understanding of audio post-production techniques, including mixing, mastering, and sound design.
- Excellent ear for detail and an ability to identify and correct audio imperfections.
- Familiarity with various audio file formats and conversion processes.
