Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Surface Chemist with a strong focus on nanotechnology to join our cutting-edge R&D team. This role is crucial for developing and optimizing novel materials and processes for next-generation semiconductor manufacturing. The successful candidate will work in a state-of-the-art laboratory environment, conducting research on surface phenomena, material interfaces, and advanced characterization techniques at the nanoscale. You will be instrumental in driving innovation and contributing to solutions that push the boundaries of technology.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and execute experiments to understand surface chemistry and material interactions at the nanoscale.
  • Develop and characterize novel surface coatings, thin films, and nanomaterials for semiconductor applications.
  • Utilize advanced analytical techniques such as XPS, AFM, SEM, TEM, and contact angle measurements to characterize material surfaces.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including process engineers, material scientists, and device physicists.
  • Analyze experimental data, prepare detailed reports, and present findings to internal stakeholders.
  • Maintain a safe and compliant laboratory environment, adhering to all company and industry safety standards.
  • Contribute to patent applications and scientific publications.

Required Skills

  • PhD or Master's degree in Chemistry, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, or a related field with focus on Surface Science or Nanotechnology.
  • Proven experience with surface characterization techniques (e.g., XPS, AFM, SEM/TEM, IR, Raman).
  • Strong understanding of chemical kinetics, thermodynamics, and surface phenomena.
  • Experience with thin film deposition techniques (e.g., ALD, CVD, PVD) is highly desired.
  • Proficiency in data analysis software and statistical methods.
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • PhD with 3+ years of industry experience in semiconductor or related advanced materials R&D.
  • Hands-on experience with ultra-high vacuum (UHV) systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead research projects and mentor junior scientists.
  • Record of publications in peer-reviewed journals or patent contributions.
  • Familiarity with cleanroom protocols and procedures.
