Job Description
We are seeking dedicated and experienced Over-The-Road (OTR) Reefer Drivers to join our dynamic team. As an OTR Reefer Driver with Prime Inc., you will be responsible for safely and efficiently transporting temperature-sensitive goods across the country, ensuring timely deliveries while adhering to all federal and company regulations. Key Responsibilities
- Operate tractor-trailer combinations safely and efficiently, primarily hauling refrigerated freight.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles and trailers.
- Monitor and maintain freight temperatures according to shipping requirements.
- Ensure accurate and timely delivery of goods to designated locations.
- Maintain detailed and accurate logs of working hours and vehicle maintenance.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch, customers, and other team members.
- Adhere to all DOT regulations, company policies, and safety standards.
- Load and unload cargo as required, ensuring proper securing techniques.
- Manage paperwork, including bills of lading, delivery receipts, and inspection reports.
Required Skills
- Valid Class A CDL
- Minimum 2 years of verifiable OTR driving experience
- Clean driving record (MVR)
- Ability to pass a DOT physical and drug screen
- Strong understanding of DOT regulations and ELD compliance
- Experience with refrigerated transport (reefer units)
- Excellent time management and organizational skills
- Commitment to safety and customer service
Preferred Qualifications
- Hazardous materials endorsement
- Tanker endorsement
- Experience with specific reefer unit types (e.g., Thermo King, Carrier)
- Familiarity with electronic logging devices (ELDs) and transportation management systems (TMS)
