Job Description
Join the UPS team as a Route Driver, serving our local suburban customers in Tucson, Arizona. As a UPS Route Driver, you will be responsible for safely and efficiently delivering and picking up packages, maintaining a professional demeanor, and ensuring excellent customer service. Key Responsibilities
- Operate a UPS package delivery vehicle safely and efficiently through various routes and conditions.
- Deliver and pick up packages promptly and accurately to residential and business customers.
- Load and unload packages from the vehicle, often requiring physical effort.
- Complete daily delivery and pickup logs, manifest, and other administrative tasks.
- Scan and log packages using a handheld device.
- Maintain a clean and organized vehicle.
- Adhere to all traffic laws and company safety policies.
- Provide exceptional customer service, addressing inquiries and resolving delivery issues.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the delivery vehicle.
Required Skills
- Valid US driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Ability to lift, push, pull, and carry packages weighing up to 70 pounds regularly.
- Ability to safely operate a large package delivery vehicle.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills.
- Strong customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a delivery or commercial driving role.
- Familiarity with the Tucson and surrounding suburban areas.
- Experience with handheld scanning devices or logistics software.
