Job Description
We are seeking an experienced and professional Luxury Van Chauffeur with a specific focus on group transfers to join our elite team in La Jolla, CA. The ideal candidate will possess exceptional driving skills, a profound understanding of customer service, and an impeccable driving record. This role involves transporting high-value clients and groups in luxury vans, ensuring timely arrivals, safe journeys, and a superior level of comfort and discretion. You will be a key representative of Carey International, upholding our reputation for excellence in every interaction and every mile.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely operate luxury vans for the transportation of groups, ensuring adherence to all traffic laws and company policies.
- Manage group transfer logistics, including coordinating pick-up and drop-off points, luggage handling, and passenger manifests.
- Provide exceptional customer service, maintaining a professional demeanor, discretion, and courteous interaction with all passengers.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles, ensuring they are impeccably clean, well-maintained, and ready for service.
- Adhere to strict schedules and adapt to changes in itinerary with flexibility and efficiency.
- Assist passengers with luggage and provide assistance as needed, always prioritizing safety and comfort.
- Maintain confidentiality and discretion regarding client information and travel details.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch, clients, and colleagues regarding schedule changes, delays, or issues.
- Keep accurate records of mileage, fuel consumption, and service logs.
- Stay informed about local traffic patterns, road conditions, and alternative routes to ensure timely arrivals.
Required Skills
- Valid US driver's license (Class C minimum; commercial endorsement preferred but not required)
- Clean driving record (no major violations or accidents in the past 3-5 years)
- Proven experience as a professional chauffeur or similar driving role, especially with group transfers
- Excellent knowledge of the San Diego metropolitan area, including La Jolla and surrounding regions
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to operate luxury vans with advanced features safely and smoothly
- Impeccable personal presentation and professional attire
- Discretion and a strong commitment to client confidentiality
- Physical ability to assist with luggage and embarkation/disembarkation as required
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience with high-net-worth individuals, corporate clients, or VIP transportation
- Familiarity with luxury vehicle operations and maintenance
- CPR and First Aid certification
- Fluency in additional languages
