Job Description
We are seeking a compassionate, responsible, and enthusiastic Live-in Au Pair to join a welcoming host family in the vibrant Buckhead neighborhood of Atlanta, GA. This unique opportunity offers an immersive cultural experience, allowing you to live as part of an American family while providing dedicated childcare. The role is perfect for international students or young adults looking to explore the USA, improve their English, and gain valuable childcare experience. You will be responsible for the daily care and supervision of children, engaging them in educational and recreational activities, and assisting with light household duties related to the children. This is more than a job; it’s a chance to build lasting relationships, explore a new city, and embark on an unforgettable adventure.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide attentive and loving childcare for children aged 3-10 years old.
- Assist children with daily routines, including waking up, meals, bathing, and bedtime.
- Plan and engage children in age-appropriate educational games, creative activities, and outdoor play.
- Prepare healthy meals and snacks for the children.
- Drive children to and from school, appointments, and extracurricular activities (if applicable and with valid driver's license).
- Perform light household duties related to the children, such as tidying their rooms, doing their laundry, and cleaning up after their meals/activities.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized environment for the children.
- Communicate regularly and openly with the host parents regarding the children's well-being and daily activities.
- Be a positive role model and support the children's development.
Required Skills
- Demonstrated experience in childcare (e.g., babysitting, nannying, teaching)
- Fluency in English (verbal and written)
- Valid driver's license (or willingness to obtain one upon arrival) and a good driving record
- Non-smoker
- Ability to commit to a 12-month program
- Love for children and a genuine desire to engage with them
- Responsible, mature, and adaptable personality
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience caring for multiple children
- First Aid and CPR certification
- Background in early childhood education or related field
- Experience living abroad or in a cross-cultural setting
- Ability to swim
