Job Description
Are you ready to be a crucial part of creating a clean and enjoyable experience for thousands of festival-goers? Republic Services is seeking dedicated Festival Trash Collectors for an upcoming major outdoor event in McAllen, Texas. This is an essential role, ensuring the festival grounds remain pristine throughout the event. You’ll work outdoors, get your steps in, and enjoy the festival atmosphere while contributing to its success. This temporary position offers free entry to the festival as a thank you for your hard work!
Key Responsibilities
- Collect and dispose of waste and recycling materials from designated festival areas.
- Regularly empty and replace liners in trash and recycling bins.
- Maintain cleanliness and tidiness across the festival grounds, including stages, food courts, and public areas.
- Operate small carts or hand trucks to transport collected waste to central disposal points.
- Work collaboratively with other team members to ensure efficient waste management.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and environmental regulations.
- Be proactive in identifying and addressing cleanliness issues.
Required Skills
- Physical stamina and ability to lift up to 30 lbs and stand/walk for extended periods.
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions (heat, sun, light rain).
- Reliability and strong work ethic.
- Team-oriented attitude with good communication skills.
- Attention to detail to ensure thorough cleanup.
- Commitment to safety and environmental best practices.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in outdoor labor or event support roles.
- Familiarity with waste management practices or recycling sorting.
