Job Description

JOANN Stores is seeking a talented and imaginative DIY Content Editor to join our dynamic team. In this 100% remote role, you will be responsible for conceptualizing, writing, and editing engaging, Pinterest-inspired content that sparks creativity and guides our audience through exciting DIY projects. If you live and breathe crafts, understand the latest trends, and can translate complex ideas into clear, inspiring instructions, we want to hear from you!
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and pitch innovative DIY project ideas aligned with current trends and seasonal themes, with a strong focus on Pinterest's aesthetic and shareability.
- Write clear, concise, and inspiring step-by-step instructions for a variety of craft and home decor projects.
- Edit content from freelance contributors to ensure accuracy, brand voice consistency, and high quality.
- Collaborate with photographers and videographers to ensure visual content perfectly complements written instructions.
- Optimize content for SEO to maximize discoverability and organic traffic.
- Research popular Pinterest trends, emerging craft techniques, and competitor content to inform strategy.
- Manage content schedules and deadlines, ensuring timely delivery of projects.
- Work closely with marketing and social media teams to promote content effectively.
- Maintain a comprehensive understanding of JOANN's product offerings and integrate them naturally into projects.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in content creation, writing, and editing, preferably in the DIY, craft, or home decor space.
- Exceptional written communication skills with a keen eye for detail, grammar, and style.
- Deep familiarity with Pinterest as a platform, including understanding trends, aesthetics, and user behavior.
- Ability to execute DIY projects and translate the process into easy-to-follow instructions.
- Basic understanding of SEO principles for content optimization.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Proficiency with content management systems (CMS).
Preferred Qualifications
