Job Description
Join Intermountain Healthcare as a Virtual Call Coordinator, a fully remote position focused exclusively on scheduling and coordination. In this vital role, you will be the first point of contact for many patients and their families, ensuring seamless appointment booking and information dissemination without any sales responsibilities. You will utilize various scheduling systems to manage appointments, provide general information, and direct calls to the appropriate departments, all from the comfort of your home office. This role requires exceptional organizational skills, a friendly demeanor, and a strong commitment to patient satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and coordinate patient appointments and scheduling across multiple departments.
- Respond to incoming calls promptly and professionally, providing accurate information and assistance.
- Utilize electronic health record (EHR) and scheduling software to input and update patient data.
- Verify patient demographics and insurance information as needed.
- Effectively resolve scheduling conflicts and adjust appointments based on patient and provider availability.
- Direct calls to the appropriate medical staff or department for clinical inquiries.
- Maintain strict confidentiality of all patient information in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Document all interactions and scheduling details accurately and efficiently.
Required Skills
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of 1 year experience in an administrative, customer service, or call center role.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in basic computer applications and strong typing skills.
- Ability to multitask and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Reliable high-speed internet connection and a dedicated quiet workspace.
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate's degree or higher.
- Experience with medical scheduling software or Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems.
- Previous experience in a remote work environment.
