Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Forensic Transcriptionist with a strong focus on Adliye/Legal Support to join our team in Charlotte, NC. This critical role involves accurately transcribing complex audio and video recordings related to legal investigations, court proceedings, and other forensic matters. The ideal candidate will possess exceptional listening skills, an in-depth understanding of legal terminology, and the ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with the utmost discretion. You will be instrumental in supporting our legal and investigative teams, ensuring the integrity and accessibility of crucial evidence.
Key Responsibilities
- Transcribe audio and video recordings from legal proceedings, investigations, and interviews with a high degree of accuracy and speed.
- Review and edit transcribed documents for grammar, spelling, punctuation, and legal terminology errors.
- Ensure strict adherence to confidentiality protocols and data security guidelines for all sensitive materials.
- Manage and organize transcription files, maintaining proper version control and documentation.
- Collaborate effectively with legal professionals, investigators, and other team members.
- Meet strict deadlines while maintaining high standards of quality and accuracy.
- Research and verify legal terms, names, and technical jargon to ensure precise transcriptions.
- Utilize specialized transcription software and equipment efficiently.
- Provide ad-hoc administrative support as needed to the legal support team.
Required Skills
- Minimum of 3 years of professional transcription experience, preferably in a legal or forensic setting.
- Exceptional listening skills and a keen ear for detail.
- Proficiency in legal terminology and court procedures (Adliye/Legal Support focus).
- Advanced grammar, punctuation, and spelling skills.
- Demonstrated ability to maintain strict confidentiality.
- Excellent time management and organizational abilities.
- Proficiency with transcription software (e.g., Express Scribe, FTR Gold) and Microsoft Office Suite.
- High typing speed and accuracy (minimum 70 WPM).
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Legal Studies, Criminal Justice, or a related field.
- Certification in Legal Transcription or Forensic Transcription.
- Experience with digital audio/video editing software.
- Familiarity with various legal document formats and citation styles.
